Happy Birthday Canada
July 1/2008
Gold is trading nice. Up 20 bucks, close to 940 buck mark. Silver up nice over the 18 buck mark again. Good to see. It is good to see the short having to cover every now and then and make them work for their trades also.
In keeping with our shale gas play, here is a wee news piece about shale oil found in Colorado. Watch the short video. Sort of interesting. Click here
End Of Week
June 27/2008
Great week to be in gold and silver especially if you are into the majors of even some of the mid cap stocks. With gold up over $30 plus this week it's like the good times are ready to roll again. Oil was sure up nice also. Good if you are invested or affiliated with oil and gas resource companies. The oil downside to high oil prices is that cost is passed onto junior companies with limited budgets for exploration. Drilling costs and flying costs increase dramatically and can be a huge factor in the exploration business.
Today there are approximately 2000 junior mining companies. Even with the internet and all the information one would ever need, finding good solid value players is still a chore. One has to look at everything. Unlike some small tech or manufacturing company, small mining companies are in a league of their own. It's much more than just what commodity they are in but also how much experience they have in finding those commodities, how much money they on hand to spend exploring, past finds or deposits if any, who is all in the team, how much stock is out there and who owns it? Lot of questions. We are always on the lookout for VALUE plays here. We have what we feel are good solid silver plays like Silvermex Resources SMR, Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and Golden Goliath GNG and Oroco Resource Corp. OCO.
This week we were presented with what could very well be another good value play to look at.
TNR Gold TNR is a small junior with properties in Argentina and Alaska. Teamed up with well established partners this a junior worth the time to do your DD on. I have some highlights of this company to take a look at.
They have a very good technical team of geologists with a track record of success. The CEO was CEO of Winspear and director of Golden Coast Energy which eventually merged to Provident Energy Trust (WinSpear Resources buyout by DeBeers & Provident Energy Trust PVX)
A solid network of mid and large-tier venture partners (CVRD, BHP, NovaGold, Suramina, La Mancha) and a excellent portfolio of year round properties that = a high potential and any one property can easily justify the market cap.
Large institutional recognitions 32% of TNR Gold TNR is held by institutions including Barrick, Vale, Prudent Bear Mutual Fund, and RAB Capital (Special Situations) 25% are held by management and insiders so very little shares float. Good cash position for 2008 operations at $4 Million in the bank, under 80 million shares
Resource estimate for Shotgun in Alaska is a geological estimate at under a million ounces at 0.93 Au g/ton. This is for the property joint with NovaGold NG-T. Other ongoing projects include our 4 Argentina projects, El Salto, El Tapau, Eureka (with 54 million tons copper historical estimate), and Los Azules (Minera Andes operating with Xstrata)
Minera Andes's result on a property that is optioned to Xstrata, Los Azules, is showing promising results of 200meter + of 1%+ copper and expected to have resource/pre-feasibility by 2008. TNR Gold TNR holds 25% back-in. Bob Moriarty took a trip down to see 2 key projects, the El Tapau and El Salto in the mining friendly province of San Juan in Argentina. 321gold.com Best part of the story so far is the share price. Undervalued at .25 cents. Trading volumes can be thin so be forewarned
Our small shale gas player Trivello Energy TRV ended the week off a bit as did Nordic Oil & Gas NOG. They are still waiting on flow rates from the second well they drilled and Explor Resources Inc. EXS ended down a bit also.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Have great loooooooooooooooong weekend.

Mid Week
June 24/2008
In keeping with our shale gas plays here, we have been looking at other potential players. Because we feel the Horn River Basin area could really turn out to be a big deal, we decided to look for other small players to watch. Keeping in mind that these wells are costing upward of 10 million dollars to drill so there are few small players here. Those that are here have partnered up with others to help with off setting some of these costs. Also those that are already here could do extremely well.
Aside from the one small player we have been watching, Trivello Energy TRV, we uncovered another small player.
Result Energy RTE. The company has less than 60 million shares and is priced in the mid 50 cent range.
Result owns 40 sections at 100% working interest within the southeastern portion of the Horn River Basin. The Company's lands are prospective for both the Middle Devonian shale gas play and the underlying Keg River platform gas play. Based on comparable figures recently announced by area operators and B.C. government sponsored studies, Result estimates the potential shale gas resource on these lands at between 100 and 200 bcf per section.
2 other players to watch that are also involved in the Horn River Basin, Kodiak Energy KDK and Transeuro Energy TSU.
Our two other plays we are following, Nordic Oil & Gas NOG is waiting on news from testing of the second well and Explor Resources Inc. EXS is still in a off beat mood like a lot of the rest of the market. Gold Star Resources GXX sold off hard for the fourth straight day. Should meet support in the mid 40's. Pacific Ridge PEX also has given back gains.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, Be careful. Watch those pennies and visit our sponsors!!
End Of The Week
June 20/2008
For all those who are in Nordic Oil & Gas NOG you may have to wait even a bit longer for the real story of the second well. But by the looks of the trading on the day the news may look good. A nice close up to end the week.
Explor Resources Inc. EXS climbed hard all week but did sell off a bit today. After about a 400% rise in about 2 or so weeks any good stock needs a rest. It will be interesting to see what next week brings on both these plays.
This past week saw a lot of coal plays start up and also some potash plays. I notice that a lot of these are almost like small obscure shell companies getting into the game. Personaly I feel most of these coal plays will dry up like most of the diamond plays did way back in the mid 1990's. But in the meantime there are those stocks you can flip a trade for a few bucks. On a personal note and this is just my opinion, I feel going forward that shale gas plays will out perform most coal plays. Trivello Energy TRV is a small play in the Horn Basin. This area has one of the largest pay zones on the planet. Gas here is measured in TRILLIONS. This small play has a 10% chunck of the action and it's portion is still in the BILLIONS of cubic feet. I see natural gas today is just over $13.00. The price of natural gas has increase 100% since the start of the year and there really is no sign of it slowing down. The stock of Trivello Energy TRV has news clarification today also about their land holdings and closed up .1 cent to .14 cents. Flirting with 52 week highs this one is ready to pop.
2 other stocks for your watch, Gold Star Resources GXX for it's sulfur plays and Pacific Ridge PEX for it's phosphate project. Pacific Ridge PEX was a 15 cent play right when we first mentioned it back on May 28 and has since doubled and now has fallen back a bit.
Looking for a stock in the Bakken area that is already established? Do some DD on Verona Development VDC. They have wells in the Gainsbough area of SE Sask. Be Warned! The stock trades extremely thin so be aware of this before going in on the play. Easy to buy but not easy to sell sometimes.
Breakwater BWR-T is bouncing of news lows still. Closed under the .40 cent mark today. Adanac Moly AUA-T was trading well today after news that the company got it's permitts to go ahead with it's Ruby Creek Project in Atlin BC.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Have a great weekend. Watch those pennies and visit our sponsors!!
A Heads Up!
June 18/2008
From a reader we got a heads up. Matamec Explorations MAT waiting on assays from a Timmins area drill program. Nordic Oil & Gas NOG news any day on their second well drilled in Preeceville area of SK. This is an exciting play. I remember years ago getting into Corridor Resources CDH-T right at the start at around 30 cents. At the time they didn't even have a well drilled. This play with Nordic Oil & Gas NOG is Deja Vu all over. Explor Resources Inc. EXS still climbing high. Here is another Ontario play as is Matamec Explorations MAT. Ontario plays are starting to be watched.
Shale plays still the place to be. Longer term small plays like Trivello Energy TRV will outweigh most coal plays due to expense. Gold Star Resources GXX for sulfur. Watch these and do DD.
Dorex Minerals Inc.. DOX sold off more today. 52 week lows but still more results to come in.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, Be careful. Watch those pennies and visit our sponsors!!
Mid Week or Mid Weak?
June 17/2008
Most penny miners have been trading really soft as of late. Aside from the likes of Explor Resources Inc. EXS which seems to want to run, all others just seem to drift aimlessly around.
Huge volumes today on International Samuel Exploration SAZ. Over 13 million shares traded.
Trivello Energy TRV had a news bit but the stock did little change. Still hit 15 cents which is a 50% pop in less than a week. Expect more news and activity on this one now that it is noticed a bit more. Also in the NE of BC Gold Star Resources GXX hit a new high. These guys are involved in a Sask. coal play but also has a sulfur play in the Ft. Nelson region. Sulphur is used to produce sulphuric acid which in turn is used produce diammonium phosphate which is a fertilizer. To meet the increased demand for fertilizer, sulphur is now gaining attention. Sulphur has seen dramatic increases in both demand and pricing, having risen from $50 per tonne to $650 per tonne in the past 15 months. So keep an eye out on this whole NE BC area.
Dorex Minerals Inc.. DOX had news and sold off today. They were the miner we mentioned in Chile back on June 3. With on going work buying dips like this may prove out to be a smart move. If assays come up dry that is one thing but when they come up with results and just because it is not enough for some doesn't mean the next batch of holes are they same. I have seen many times over the years when good results were tossed aside only to see the next batch being hot and the stock surges.
Expecting news this week for Nordic Oil & Gas NOG. We know they have found oil. The question now is just how much. Keep in mind they have wells drilled back a few years that are now going to be looked at again for potential shale gas.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, Be careful. Watch those pennies and visit our sponsors!!
Dad's Weekend
June 15/2008
Last week we saw Trivello Energy TRV make some headway on large volume. We don't know if there is any news concerning the volume or just the interest in shale gas. The Horn River Basin area is going to be an exciting area to watch in the near future. Although drilling and production costs are higher, the rewards can out weigh those costs.
Most people look at one play and then try to find another play that will reward investors with some big find. What a lot of people miss is they get blinded by the glitter of gold and fail to see the real glitter can be the money earned by companies that actually FIND that glitter. Investing in companies like Energold Drilling EGD may have been a better way to invest in the mining plays that in the actual mining companies. After all, it's these guys who get paid whether you find anything of value or not and right now they are in high demand.
52 week lows.
Forum Uranium FDC. Forum Uranium is hit mew lows but is going to be working on projects of known uranium in the Thelon area of Nunavut. Also has an CBM play although not sure how active at this time. .35 cents.
Tagish Lake Gold TLG down to 4 cents.
Mediterranean Resources MNR-T new low of .16 cents. Project in Turkey.
With coal still being a hot item Cash Minerals CHX is reviewing it's coal deposit in the Yukon west of Braeburn. Cash Minerals has a lot of projects on the go in Yukon and of course the Yukon is a mining friendly place. About 25 cents a share right now. Also another coal play that we mentioned earlier is Compliance Energy CEC. They have coal explorations permitts on Vancouver Island in the Comox Valley area. This whole area was founded because of coal. Cumberland was a coal mining town. Quinsam Coal still mines today outside of Campbell River. Few people know that today. They think it is all sport fishing, and retirement. Quinsam is owned by Hillsborough Resources HLB-T
Stocks to watch this week of course is Nordic Oil & Gas NOG, Explor Resources Inc. EXS, Raytech Metals RAY Panterra Energy PAN and something seems bit odd about volumes with East West Resources EWR. Also as an added note, watch Adanac Moly AUA-T as volume and prices have been on the increase.

Horn River Basin Shale Gas
June 12/2008
This past while we have seen alot of excitement in shale gas plays. Although a lot of them may turn out to be nothing more than a hot air play, there are others that may have some substance along with their play. The Bakken play is mostly a proven area as there are numerous companies drilling this zone area in the US and have been doing so for some time now. But what about other areas outside the Bakken? Now with gas prices on the rise and new technology there are other areas being looked at as well. One such area is the in the Fort Nelson area of BC. This in an area known as the Horn River Basin. This area has seen conventional gas plays for decades. Situated in the Northern Rookies region this area is host to large quanities of gas. How much gas? This is an area talked of in TRILLIONS. Not billions. This area is in general a big players area. Players like Duke Energy, Encana, CNRL, Apache, EOG and others. It is also in the area that back in 1999 saw the worlds largest gas well drilled. The K-29 well drilled by Chevron just outside Fort Liard NWT.
Now with all these big players in this area you may think that there is no room for small time explorers. Not so. Even small private companies like ISH Energy survived quite well over the years working in the Helmet region about 180 KM east of FT. Nelson. Companies like Trivello Energy TRV is another one of these small players. With only 50 million shares this could be a shale play in the making. By partnering up with others to help with the costs, these small players can reward shareholders very well. For 10 cents it maybe well worth having a few shares tucked away.. Here is a link to their web site. Also a recent news article about this area that appeared in the National Post just a few days ago.
Nordic Oil & Gas NOG fell back a few cents today. A lot of accumulation here today in the 68-72 cent range. Most stocks fell out of favor it seems. Gold and silver both down and not much going on. We had Constellation Copper CCU-T on our gamblers list over at juniorminers.com for quite some time. Today it had a pop as there is a rumor that someone may take over. If you were holding at 3 cents and got out at 8 you did well. Still it closed up at 6 cents on 14 million shares and there maybe more action yet to come. This is why we try to post almost broke stocks. They are for gamblers but we have seen others get rescued at the last minute.

Ka-Ching !!
June 11/2008
We don't usally sit glued to monitors every day like maybe some of those who day trade stock, so we miss out on the minute by minute action. Today was a bit different as we were watching close to hear what the news would be about Nordic Oil & Gas NOG and their second well they were drilling. Well, it's an oil well. How much oil will not be known for a few days or so but they did strike oil. The stock performed well closing up around .68 cents. A very nice 50% pop on the day. The stock did go as high as .75 cents.
While skimming the most actives we spotted another small Bakken play. Century Energy CEY opened at 8 cents and flew all the way to .295 before closing the day out at .23 cents. A 150% + gain on the day. We shall have to see what tommorrow brings.
Explor Resources Inc. EXS started the day off slow after yesterdays news but did finsh up .8 cents to 48 cents. An easy 20% gain on the day.
Raytech Metals RAY continued higher with news that they are acquiring a 15-per-cent interest in Sulphur Solutions a privately held Alberta company. Closed up in the $1.80's with a 30% gain.
That was all the good news of the stocks we are following. Now the not so good news. Breakwater BWR-T hit yet another new low today. The stock is now under .50 cents. Also Adanac Moly AUA-T is off it's 52 week low by 1 cent.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, Be careful out there and watch those pennies!!
More Down Than Ups
June 10/2008
Way back on May 10 we mentioned a uranium player that was brought to our attention from a reader here. We felt that the stock was well worth a look. Well today that stock, Raytech Metals RAY blew off a whole lot of steam. For a down day on the markets this was the one to be holding. Closed up almost 80% to a $1.42. I have to wonder what would have happened if it was a commodity day on the markets.
Explor Resources Inc. EXS was halted for news and then when the news was released the stock sold off quite hard. Gold grades of 12.7 gpt - 0.370 opt over 7+ meters. Obviously there are those who maybe wished for more. Don't rule this play out.
For those watching Nordic Oil & Gas NOG there should be some kind of news as to their second well they are drilling shortly.
Now, for those who trade pink-sheets or have interest in them, we got an email from a reader about Sarrisa Resources SRSR. This small company is working on a play in Ontario. In March they began the process of independently assessing the historic geological work done on the property and developing an exploration plan to bring the deposit into 43-101 compliance.
For those interested in moly, Adanac Moly AUA-T is getting back down toward 52 week lows. Also speaking of lows, last week we got 2 emails from readers wondering about Breakwater BWR-T. It just keeps creeping down. I had never thought it would have gotten to as low as it has. Today it closed at .51 cents.

Gold Surges Most in Six Months on Jobs Data, Dollar's Slump
June 6 (Bloomberg) -- Gold jumped the most in six months after the U.S.
jobless rate had the biggest gain in more than two decades, spurring a
drop in the dollar. Silver also rose.
The dollar took a nose dive as soon as this jobs data came out, and
that's a big reason we've seen gold move up,'' said Matthew Zeman, a
trader at LaSalle Futures Group in Chicago.
U.S. stock indexes end with stiff losses on spike in oil prices

rate in May soared to 5.5%, the highest since October 2004, and as the
price of crude-oil futures jumps atop $139 a barrel.
Dow Jones Industrial Average loses nearly 400 points in 8th-worst such

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Slammed hard by the soaring price of crude-oil
futures, which on Friday closed at a new record high, and a rise in the
jobless rate, U.S. stocks more than wiped out weekly gains, with the Dow
chalking up the 8th-largest point drop in the blue-chip index's history.
Oil - Oil - Oil
Hot week for shale and oil plays. Nordic Oil & Gas NOG had some good swings. I see that someone bought up around 150K at market and took the price up to the mid 50's. That tells me that something is most likely up. Next week new such be out about the second well they are drilling.
Lots of consolidation of stock with Petrostar Petroleum PEP. After a nice pop it looks like it is getting re-grouped. Lots of interest in this small player. I see that a few newsletters are following it and that bodes well for exposure.
Over in Ontario Explor Resources Inc. EXS had a good pop. A close 100% gain on the week. Volume was good also. Well over a million shares Friday alone.
Oil chart of the day? Check out Reece Energy RXR. WOW. That's one that got away.
We had news this week in regards to the ABCP issue that was plaguing a few companies. There are a few mining companies like Redcorp Ventures RDV-T that had millions of dollars tied up in this mess. The news was perceived as positive for all in restructuring but did nothing for stocks prices. The banks want things done so that they can not be sued for any wrong doing. We no longer really follow Redcorp Ventures RDV-T because of this situation. Maybe as time goes on and when this money issue is behind them we will start to follow them again.
Silver futures for July delivery advanced 34.5 cents, or 2 percent.
Our silver plays Silvermex Resources SMR, Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG and Oroco Resource Corp. OCO

Quick Update. Coal And Shale Plays
June 5/2008
On the 3rd we mentioned a few new plays here. Of course Nordic Oil & Gas NOG being one of them, but also a new coal play in BC. Jet Gold JAU saw it's stock pop first thing out the gate this AM but settled back by late afternoon. Another active small play going on right now with good volume is Petrostar Petroleum PEP. This is one of those Bakken shale plays. Seems we are hearing a fair bit about these plays in the south east area of Saskatchewan. I was reading also that Manitoba is going to be seeing some activity in the near future. The Virden area has seen drilling dating back to the 50's but new technology in drilling application makes old oil fields a good place for a second look. Of course coal has been mined for years in this area.
I got an email from a reader about a small play mining play in Ontario yesterday. Explor Resources Inc. EXS is starting a new drill program on their Kidd property and by the looks of the way the stock is trading this will be on to have on your radar. There is definately something of interest here as the stock price has crept from 20 cents to 36 cents in 2 trading days. Almost up 100% and no news. A big thank you to the reader who sent in that tip!!
Also we made some changes to our outdated stock picks that we watch. You can view them here. Although gold was down silver has turned again. Getting physical silver is starting to get tough. It goes to show that there is manipulation of sorts in the market. Something is not right. Here is an interesting read about how you can profit from the crisis in the silver market.
Also of note today is Breakwater BWR-T hit another new low. 57 cents. Ouch!!

Stocks Picks From Some Readers
June 3/2008
It's a new month. As far as gold and silver plays go, last month could have been a no show. No one would have even missed out. Seems shale plays and some small oil plays are quite hot. One oil play in particular that I have been watching for some time now is Nordic Oil & Gas NOG. This stock caught my eye back in November when they announced they had found oil seepage. Kind of like of a modern day version of Jed Klampett on the Beverly Hill Billies. But joking aside, this is a player to watch. News is timely and seems in order. From what I read their first hole was abandoned due to getting stuck but they are suppose to be moving to a second location and drilling could start any day. I see by the stock trading the last few days seem to indicate good accumulation. On a positive note this from the company pres., "Our site geologist has advised us that he has found an oil film and droplets of oil in the drilling fluid coming over the shaker, and that he has seen some oil staining on samples taken," Sounds better than a dry hole to me.
From our readers: Jet Gold JAU. They have a coal play going on also. The Naskeena Coal Claims just north of Terrace in BC. They just had news yesterday stating that drilling is now underway. Coal is still hot so keep this one on the radar.
Also from a reader a neat company almost unknown that needs some careful attention. Dorex Minerals Inc.. DOX. Here is a penny miner working in Chile on a large copper deposit. Just had news and are waiting assay results. But here is the kicker. Pull a chart and take a look at the last 2-3 weeks trading volumes compared to the rest of the year. Something is up here folks. And bonus number 2 here is only 14 million shares outstanding. One vibe of good news and this penny play could be who knows where and how high in no time flat. This reminds me of a play I had years ago where the ask side dried up. Something like 30 cent bid and 90 cents ask. And the best part was the asks got their way. That is what a small float can do.
Cadiscor Resources CAO-T. We had CAO as a feature junior miner over at junior miners back in Feb. and the stock was 70 cents. Today .... 35 cents.

Until next time, Be careful out there and watch those pennies!!
Penny Mining Oil Gas Stocks
May 31/2008
Well this site should be called penny gas stocks or penny oil stocks. Our tip we received during the week about Panterra Energy PAN sure paid off nice. I see the Friday close was up 75% to close at 81 cents. Our other oil stock, Nordic Oil & Gas NOG fell down 12 cents to 54 cents. Don't dismiss the play. They have just started to drill. There will be news and most likely lots of it. These are both active plays with things happening so keep tuned.
Another new play that is both shale gas, CBM, and coal is Compliance Energy CEC. They already have an active mine in BC, the Basin Coal Mine near Princeton and are exploring for CBM on Vancouver Island along with 2 other coal deposits. Volume was strong the last 2 days of the week and the stock price popped up a good 35%. With no news release there must be news shortly. I can't seem to find any news so maybe next week. Or maybe these plays are just getting attention but the volume seems a bit to high for that.
We also got a tip about Jet Gold JAU. They have a coal play going on also. The Naskeena Coal Claims just north of Terrace in BC. Although politics play different in BC from Saskatchewan it still is a coal play worth watching.
Real interesting article in reuters this week. Talks about cash rich gold miners looking to buy gold rich, cash poor juniors. With the present credit crunch going on a lot of juniors are having a tough time to get the money they need so that can leave them sitting as easy targets for takeovers. Question is which ones. Yukon Zinc YZC got snapped up last month buy the Chinese. Companies with mines and good properties like Breakwater BWR-T or Redcorp RDV-T are prime pickings. Just this month Terrane Metals TRX got some money from Gold Corp G-T. Not a buy out but it sure is a helping hand. Some weary tired shareholders may now have a bit to smile about.
Our silver plays Silvermex Resources SMR, Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG and Oroco Resource Corp. OCO did very little this week although Great Panther Resources GPR-T seems to have turned the corner and is heading back up.
We did have news from both Silvermex Resources SMR and Golden Goliath GNG. Market reaction was? NONE !!

Mid Week
May 28/2008
Well after gold and silver and a few other base metals got knocked down, the news is pretty much the same for everything. Golden Goliath GNG had another PR and ..... just one big yawn. Breakwater BWR-T made a new low today. That slide will have to stop sometime. I am surprised that it has gone this low. Our gravel miner Birch Mountain Resources BMD-T was up a wee bit to .51 cents.
I don't usually talk about any stocks besides mining plays. But every once in a while a small play pops up on the radar. Nordic Oil & Gas NOG has started drilling in the Preeceville area of Saskatchewan. This should be a very exciting play to watch as this is the first time wells have been drilled in this area. I am not sure what the depth of these wells are but watch close. I also got a tip from a reader about about Panterra Energy PAN. This is a shale gas play.
Adanac Moly AUA-T got some financing today for their Ruby Creek Project. The stock closed down .15 cents to .72 cents. Huh? Nothing seems to make any sense. On the 23 we mentioned Messina Minerals MMI was turning around. Up again today to .60 cents. That's a nice pop from 40 to 60 in 4 days.
Out of our silver plays Great Panther Resources GPR-T has turned around also. It is starting to look like the bottom is in on a lot of these miners. Let's hope so.
Here is another tip from a reader sent in. Pacific Ridge PEX is a 15 cent play right now and is starting to get a bit active. They just aquired a large phosphate project in east-central British Columbia. Phosphate is use in fertilizer and we all know how agri-crops are hot right now. Plus we all know that most crops don't really grow to well without fertilizer.

US Government Rations American Silver Eagle Coins
(A Scarcity In The Making)
May 24/2008
Boy, who would have thought this to happen. The Hard Assets silver purchase program that we promote is comprised of American Silver Eagles. That is the coin of choice. A 1 ounce coin of pure 99.9% silver. We have always felt this was a great way for the average person to accumulate silver one ounce at a time. Now just this week the US government has decided to ration the availability of these coins. In other words they have created at scarcity. So you know what the value of these coins is going to be from now on in. The coins have a 1 dollar face value, a 18 dollar silver value (at this point) and now because of this government issue, the coins could demand a price of 30 dollars and over. For those of you who are members and have been accumulating silver each month, we think you are going to reap HUGE rewards from these coins. We always try to recommend stocks and programs that will reward. Here is the news from the Wall Street Journal.
End Of The Week
May 23/2008
Not an overly glamourous week for stock trading this was. On the news end of things we had 2 PR from 2 of our silver stocks we have on watch. Both Silvermex Resources SMR and Golden Goliath GNG put our news that looked good. Unfortunately the so called street slash investment world didn't really seem to notice it or even care which is too bad. Golden Goliath closed down 2 cents to 25 cents and Silvermex Resources also down 2 cents to 77 cents. Both had real light volumes.
Birch Mountain Resources BMD-T had a nice pop in the last 2 days. Closed at 49 cents after hitting a bottom of 40 cents on Wednesday.
Back in February we featured both here and on juniorminers a penny miner by the name of Cadiscor Resources Inc. CAO. Around the time we featured this company the stock did a nice pop and was in the 70 cent range. Today the stock is bottomed at 38 cents. Now if you are ever in the market for and undervalued stock, "this is one undervalued stock." Only 33 million shares outstanding plus around 400,000 oz gold. This company holds 100% of four mining properties and an option on a fifth. Those five properties are all located in Quebec and cover 400 claims for a total area of 8,340 hectares. They also have an option for the Sleeping Giant Mine and Mill from Iamgold.
What can you buy for 5 cents?? Well today you can buy Tagish Lake Gold TLG. That 5 cents is even on the ask side. Shares in gold mines don't come much cheaper. They have about 120 million outstanding shares. Their main project is the Skookum Creek Project in Yukon.
Keep an eye out on Potash One Inc. KCL and Raytech Metals RAY. Also Breakwater BWR-T made a new low of 68 cents today. Somewhere along the way it has to stop. All I can say is I am glad that I don't own any. It will however be nice to have some once the bottom has been reached. Zinc prices will rebound. Speaking of zinc Messina Minerals MMI had nice volume and up 6 cents to close at 46 cents.
As always our silver plays, Silvermex Resources SMR, Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG along with our new watch Oroco Resource Corp. OCO.

Turning Around ??
May 21/2008
This week of which has only been 2 days because of the holiday has seen some stock turn around nicely. Both gold and silver prices are up along with of course ..... crude oil. Back on May 1 we mentioned Fronteer Development FRG-T which had hit a bottom. This week the stock has really taken off. It is not a penny player but could be used as an indicator or maybe things to come. Usually it's the larger players that seem to get the movement first and that is because they are exposed to bigger money, such as funds and institutional money.
Another small player we watched for a while has bottomed out and made a nice pop. Pure Point Uranium PTU looks poised for a good pop. The one thing about Pure Point is that they have a massive amount of land in the Athabascan Basin in Northern Sask. With coal and energy stock prices taking off uranium starts to look good as an alternative.
Getting back to oil, this week Imperial Oil got a go ahead for their Hearn Project in Fort McMurray. Beside getting involved directly in oil itself there are other easy ways to take part in the action. Building these huge projects takes a lot of energy and infastructure in itself. One small company that is sitting at a bottom right now but is poised to take advantage of this types of opportunities is Birch Mountain Resources BMD-T. This was a 4 buck stock earlier this year and is now in the 40 cent range with around 85 million shares. Their product??? GRAVEL!! Now here is something simple. It sure ain't glamourous or pretty but it could really spice up your portfolio. Up in this area the ground is covered in muskeg and you need tons of a solid filler for building a base for everything from project pads to roads etc. Because the soil itself is a gumbo type clay, you need tons of gravel to cover roads. Actually with out a proper base this gravel will just slowly sink out of site so adding gravel is an on going episode. As far as I know these guys have the only quarry in that whole area. Gee..... use to be just gold and silver. Now hear we are talking about potash, coal and now GRAVEL!!
Anyhow we will have to see how the rest of the week plays out. Gold and silver we feel are going to continue their climb to the $1000 mark. Don't be surprised if the price continues right on through.

Circumpolar Penny Miners
This past week the United States listed the polar bear as a threatened species. You might be wondering what that has got to do with penny mining stocks. Well nothing at this time really. But it could mean a lot in the near future. You see at this point in time Canada has not felt it necessary to list the big white bear as threatened. After all about 2/3 of all the worlds polar bears live in Canada. The big problem or issue will be that if they do become a threatened species, then it sort of opens a whole news can of worms. Or shall I say "ISSUES".
Now I am not some legal guru but from what I have read, once this animal is classified as threatened it will become somewhat like that spotted owl episode about 15 years ago. We all know what happened there. No more logging. Period. Forests forever. This here could very well become the very same. From small grass roots exploration to full scale mine development, this bear could become a real issue. This is something that CEOs of these companies are going to be dealing with. Investors could very well see some promising projects get shelved in the future because of this also. It boils down to this. You can't do anything that disturbs it's environment. It's all about the global warming thing that everyone is talking about. Here is a reuters news link.
I have had 3 emails this week asking about coal stocks. maybe it is because of the Goldsource Mines Inc. GXS find out in Saskaboom. North American Gem NAG of course has claims staked around them also and has seen their stock quite active. Personally we feel that the run is over with coal. We were in back in November and got out about 6 or so weeks ago after 500% returns on Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache Coal GCE-T. Once coal get to high in price stuff like LNG, uranium etc. get back into vogue. Unlike silver or gold bulk commodities really only go so high and then users of those commodities start to look for alternatives. But hey, what do I know. It's just my theory thats all.
I also get email asking about Redcorp Ventures RDV-T because we have them on a watch list. Needless to say the stock trading is very dismal. In fact it is down right awful. Here is the deal. They do have a mine that will be going into production in the first part 2009. That's the good part. Now for the bad part. Unfortunatly they got tons of excess stock and millions of dollars tied up in that ABCP mess. The way that I see it is they do have the goods in the ground and if things came to pass that will not allow them as in RDV, to mine it out, someone would be knocking at the door pretty quick. I see that Yukon Zinc YZC over across the border sold out to the chinese. I guess maybe that is what it takes these days if money is a problem.

HELLO LANCE! LANCE FROM SASK

I got an email from you today asking about Victory Nickel NI-T and Crowflight Minerals CML. I wrote a reply but your email bounced. Get back to with another email address as I have a message for you.
Tip Of The Day - From One Of Our Readers
May 12/2008
We get tips from time to time. All tips are looked at very seriously. You never know when the next big pop is going to happen. Anyways I got a email on Friday from a reader who said watch Cash Minerals CHX and Zaruma Resources Inc. ZMR-T. Cash popped 25% today on heavy volume. Zarum was up 6% on fair volume also. I would like to thank that reader for sending in those 2 great plays to watch.
Potash One Inc. KCL bounced back nice as did Raytech Metals RAY. Raytech was up almost 18% on the day.

End Of Week
May 10/2008
We were touting coal stocks here way back in Nov. 07. Our 2 picks we had were Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache Coal GCE-T. Both of these coal producer returned 4-500%. By the way they are still on an up hill march. Grand Cache Coal GCE-T is up about 700% since the start of the new year. The reason we are talking about these 2 stocks again to day is because this past week there was another small junior player looking for diamonds that stumbled across ...... you guessed it, COAL. Nothing really glamorous about coal other than it is in demand. Goldsource Mines Inc GXS found what is looking like a batch of high grade coal. Stock has popped from 30 cents to 5 bucks this month. By the way, that find is in eastern Saskatchewan.
Speaking of Saskatchewan, last week or so we mentioned a potash play. Potash One Inc. KCL. The stock has pulled back a bit and is still in a downward trend. With all the talk of high food costs and grain prices these sort of plays get a lot of action.
Also in Saskatchewan, there is another small player to watch. Raytech Metals RAY. These guys have a large uranium play in the northern Saskatchewan in the Athabascan Basin in the areas of where active mining has been taken place. This area produces about 30% of the world uranium. This uranium project has a 43-101 report. They also have a potash exposure that is being worked on in the east central are of the province. 32 million shares. Over at junior miners we just ran a small story the other week about Uranium City in our newsletter. It's a short read that can be read here.
Speaking again about Saskaboom did anybody snag some JNR Resources Inc JNN?? Nice pop. Up about 25% on the week. Is the bottom behind them?
Breakwater Resources BWR-T got slapped hard. Gee I wonder why some bank and tech stocks lose millions and the crowd just shrugs it off. These guys lose 4 cents a share and get burned at the stake. Stock found a new 52 week low. Closed down at .84 cents. We like Breakwater Resources for the fact that this is a full blown mining company with a penny stock price. The lower the stock goes the more wiggle room it has to rebound. These kind prices present great buying opportunities.
Speaking of undervalued, we still like Redcorp Ventures RDV-T. Sitting at around 20 cents these guys are on line to have the next major mine up and running in BC. First part of 2009. A lot are scared because they got a bunch of money (about 90 million) stuck in that ABCP issue last year but what most don't really think about is that some of the big miners have a lot of money and they are out shopping. No better place to shop than where the goods are. Just look across the border a few hundred miles and see what happened to Yukon Zinc Corp YZC. With stocks in the dumps you are going to see a lot of buyouts. Easy doubles and triples for some of these plays that are undervalued at this time.

New Gamblers Stock
May 6/2008
Every once in a while we get those stocks in companies where the wheels have fallen off and they are headed into the great abyss. We had Constellation Copper CCU and Tahara Diamonds TAH both posted over at juniorminers. Now we maybe a bit early but we have also added Crystallex International Corp KRY. We are not saying that they will go under like the other 2 but the question is if they don't get the situation in Venezuela straightened out, what will they have? How low will the stock go? How long will it just languish in uncertainty? Would we buy it today? For us it would be a real gamble. Our small list of gamble stocks is listed here.
Hot on uranium? JNR Resources Inc JNN is poised nice. Sitting on 52 week lows. This stock is well off it's 52 week highs of around $3.50. Lots of ground, tons of potential and well worth a look. Lighter than normal trading volume spells a possible bottom.
We are also looking at another potash play that is also into uranium. We are just waiting for a verification from the company before any recommendations. Hopefully this week we will get a positive response.
Anymore hot tips out there? Let us in on them. Our gold picks along with our silver plays are making us ill right now.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, watch those pennies.
New Month. New Stock. New Commodity.
May 1/2008
Here at Penny Mining Stocks we always seem to be attracted to gold and silver plays. Being to focused on them you end up losing sight of some other miners completely. Take for instance Potash One Inc. KCL This junior has the Findlater Potash project is located about 80 kilometers northwest of Regina close to the north from the Mosaic Belle Plaine potash solution mine. The project currently holds some 97,240 acres of Crown mineral lands. we all know that gas prices are climbing and so is food costs. But here is the classic seller of picks and shovels to the miners. Fertilizer. Crops just don't seem to grow as BIG without it. High wheat prices means more demand and these guys are looking to find the product to help that demand.
Fronteer Development FRG-T is not really a penny mining stock. I wanted to bring it to people attention because here we have a stock that had a 52 week high of almost $16. Today this player is almost $4. It did have a nice pop today, but long term chart still shows a downward pressure. This is not a spec stock with a maybe. This is a big player. Just like Breakwater BWR-T these are like a blue chip stock with a penny play price. These are stocks to watch. They may not be fun and may even be a bit boring, but losing money is not much fun either. Fronteer Development FRG-T, Breakwater BWR-T. 2 stocks to put above the radar.
When watching stocks it's sort of neat to see how when things go up in price, everyone runs in and wants. Nobody wants to be left out. But when prices go down everyone runs the other way. The same goes for our Hard Assets silver program. When silver prices were up around $20 we had people joining like mad. Now? Just a dribble here and there. It will be interesting to see what happens again once silver prices rebound. I can tell you right now what will happen. Nothing changes.
Our silver plays, Silvermex Resources SMR, Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG along with our new watch Oroco Resource Corp. OCO. Great Panther Resources GPR-T is over sold right now in our opinion.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.

The Week That Was. Are We There Yet?
April 25/2008
I been reading different articles now that state the end of April is the end for corporate tax loss selling in Canada and the US. I don't have the exact particulars but that seems to be gist of things. So with that in mind there are those out there who say the penny miners and juniors that are so depressed right now will start to make a comeback. Then there is that other camp that says if it's anything gold to "Sell in May" and come back in the fall. And still others that say it will be different this time. I really like the latter. I would really like something different.
Speaking of different we got another silver pick here to add to our list of silver plays. Silvermex Resources SMR. Silvermex has 6 active projects in Mexico. It has 2 projects that are NI 43-101 with over 24 million ounces of silver in deposits. About 40% of the outstanding shares are owned by management and Silver Standard. Silvermex will now join our list of silver plays which includes Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG along with our new watch Oroco Resource Corp. OCO.
Aurelian ARU-T, Corriente Resources CTQ-T and Iamgold IMG-T all took tumbles this week but today I see Aurelian ARU-T made a nice turnaround. Seems the government is going to be allowing responsible mining. For those who bought yesterday you did real good.
Some stocks are just a bit sadder than others. These are the ones that really disappoint. We watched First Narrows UNO for quite some time but after a few months of nothing it sort of falls off the radar screen. I noticed this week it has had the rug yanked right out from under it. Down to 15 cents. Another we followed because of their projects etc. was Benton Resources BTC. Talk about dismal looking charts.
Here is something else a bit new. Klondike Silver KS and some of the other mining companies under the same umbrella have hired an IR firm that is going to be using web 2.0 technology. This will allow some kind of interaction between shareholder and management. I may or may not have this correct. I am still working in web.01. Anyhow here is a link to that news release. By the way I did get an email from someone a while back mentioning Klondike Silver KS as a Silver play. But because we could find out if they had 100% ownership, plus being 43-101 compliant we have held off posting them as a silver play here at this time. Klondike Silver can be had for 21 cents per share today. A 52 week low.

Think Zinc
April 22/2008
What about zinc? Seems the bottom has fallen out of the zinc market. The price of zinc has been in a trading range of $1.00 - $1.30 since Nov 07. Explorers and producers of zinc are at 52 week lows and seem to be getting lower. I am always watching Breakwater BWR-T and Blue Note Mining Inc. BN-T but just this week I came across Selkirk Metals SLK. All 3 right down and out. Canadian Zinc CZN-T is in the batch also but there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding this miner because of their location. Being right beside a park can always pose issues of uncertainty.
Breakwater BWR-T will have to make a break to the upside on of these days. Or are they a prime target to be bought out? This is a company who has mines working. Not just an explorer with some claims staked somewhere. Keep this one on your radar screen if you haven't got it there already. Selkirk Metals SLK on the other hand is looking at developing a large lead/zinc deposit. The Ruddock project in BC north of Kamloops.
Lots of weird stuff happening in Ecuador right now. Seems the government there has installed a moratorium on mining concessions. A lot of stocks are hit bad. If you are holding any you don't need to be reminded. Stocks like Aurelian ARU-T, Corriente Resources CTQ-T and Iamgold IMG-T all took a tumble. Aurelian ARU-T fell the worst of all. That is one of the risks of buying these mining players in some of these other countries. One has to be very nimble and alert on news and happenings at all times.
Don't like the way your favorite losing stock is performing these days? Well whatever you do, be careful what you say one chat boards. Seems the CEO from Century Mining CMM, is suing some poster for defamation and other annoyances such as, "Ms. Kent is a liar, has committed securities fraud, and is physically unattractive and stupid, among other things." Ms. Kent is of course the old president of the now defunked Royal Oak Mines. Here is the complete run down on that story. And with that I close here.

End Of Week
April 20/2008
Last week we talked about mergers. Sparton Resources SRI was in the news as it's shares shot up 12% to 19 cents on Thursday. It has signed the final share purchase agreement to acquire an 85% share interest in Hua Jun Coal Industry Co., a private Yunnan Province PRC based coal and germanium producer. Hua Jun is a large germanium concentrate producer in the Lincang area of Yunnan.
Speaking of germanium, we are going to be looking into this material a bit more as time goes one. A small company that has been around for sometime is on our radar screen. Germanium is used in a lot of hi tech gadgets both for commerical and industrial use. The one company that is exploring this material is War Eagle Mining WAR. War Eagle was around during the hey days of the diamond rush in the NWT about 15 years ago. Since then they have been quite low key.
Most mining stocks are still suffering quite bad. I see oil and some gas stocks are rallying nice. We could use some of that enthusiasm over at this camp for sure. For those who have been following Adanac Moly AUA-T they have secured some more funding and things are looking well for a continuation of building the Ruby Creek Project in Atlin. The stock did a nice 50% pop but has since of course sold off but is still up nice.
We were into coal for quite a while. Our coal picks Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache GCE-T both gave investors about 4-500% returns in about 4 months. I see now that some funds have put out buys for their clients. That's the problem with most investor type places. Now would be a good time to take most of your money off the table. The stocks can still go higher but why bother when then are more bottom feeders that are well worth the look and have a much higher return to give back. Now that these coal stocks are 5 bucks it will have to go to 10 bucks just to give you 100% return.
Well that is about it for now and as an added note, membership in the Hard Assets silver program is now well over 400. We had about 20 at the beginning of the year. Some members are now buying silver for a little as 5 bucks an ounce.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, watch those pennies.
More On Mergers
April 17/2008
A few days ago April 12, we posted an article here that talked about mergers in the mining industry. This week news came out that China's largest nickel producer Jinchuan Group is setting up shop in Toronto Canada. This is not an exploration company or a penny mining stock company. But the point here is that people like these buy out the people who have the goods.
So does one make money from deals like this? First of all we know they are most likely interested in nickel. Secondly they would be interested in projects that are ready to go into production or maybe are already in production. Start looking for small companies with large proven ore bodies of silver. Look for juniors who will need money to put these types of deposts into production. These pointers alone will give you some idea and help you narrow down the choice of penny miners that MAY and I say MAY give you that 10 bagger. In todays market any bag will do, but you know what I mean. Fact is most junior miners never see their finds go into production. They end up selling out and letting the big players take over. Here is a link for that article.
One nickel company that stands out at present is Hard Creek Nickel HNC
Meanwhile we got a news release from Golden Goliath GNG stating 10 meters grading 6.7 gr.tone gold per tone & 131.6 gr. silver per tonne at San Timoteo.
Here is bit of info to chew on. This is taken from the aureport when asked about the junior miner stocks prices being so low. Have a read:
The junior mining stocks currently are in a real funk. I think we're going to stay in that funk until we get past the capital gains taxpaying season, which for Canadians is April 30th, but here in the U.S., of course, it's April 15th. So after that I think these precious metal prices are going to start pulling these junior mining stocks out of the trough and moving them much higher. There are three or four big hedge funds in New York that have gone long gold with all the majors, but have shorted all the juniors, and as these metal prices keep going higher, the juniors are going to want to move, and these guys are going to have to run to cover their short positions.
And that should really launch our junior market up to new highs for the HUI and XIU. So I'm very bullish on the metals - we will see what happens as we move forward, but it should be fun to watch. You can read the full story right here.

$$1600 Dollar Gold
April 13/2008
Will gold get to $1600 bucks? There are lots of gold bugs that say yes. There is folks like Jim Sinclair over at JSMineset that put gold at $1600. Some other gold bugs that put gold much higher into the 2-3000 buck mark, lots of penny mining stock shareholders that sure hope it goes there and now Cramer, Jim Cramer himself says he says $1600 bucks for gold. Here is a 10 minute or so video of CNBC Mad Money Cramer himself.
By the way, when people make predictions about the price of gold like this, I wonder whose dollar are they talking about? $1600 dollar gold in US dollars?
End Of Week
April 12/2008
Mega mergers ahead for mining industry. This is an article that was posted on reuters this week. Good producing ground of minerals is in reality scarce and the best way for large companies to stay in the game is of course by buying smaller companies out. Big companies buy big companies out but soon mid size companies become big companies. These companies are also out shopping for proven ground owned by smaller companies. Small companies with proven reserves will be the name of the game. After all, most of the exploration properties are ties up with junior mining companies at this time. So it only stand to reason that large companies will in reality sit back and see who has what and then make offers and buy them out.
So what kind of companies are out there that have proven reserves or are ready to get a mine in production that are classed as penny mining stocks? Well there is most likely a lot. One company that is really beat down in the stock price is Redcorp Ventures RDV-T. Redcorp is working hard on getting the Tulsequah Chief mine in northern BC into production by early 2009. With a stock price of around 20 cents and around 400 million shares, mines and properties like this could very well be on the radar. Another of course is Terrane Metals TRX with the Mount Milligan mine. About 40 cents a share and just over 100 million shares outstanding. These are just 2 companies that come to mind but there are many more. Because we are at what some say is the bottom as most stocks are just trading in a sideways chop it really won't take much to get things rolling again. Even companies that have been around and have different mines working like Breakwater BWR-T start to become very attractive for takeovers. Especially with stock prices that are sitting on 52 week lows. Here is a link to that article.
Our silver stocks on watch,Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG along with our new watch Oroco Resource Corp. OCO.
And as an added note membership in the Hard Assets silver program is now well over 400. We had about 20 at the beginning of the year. Some members are now buying silver for a little as 5 bucks an ounce.

More Bottomed Out Bargains
April 5/2008
As always we are looking for bottomed out bargains. One of the things that we look for also besides the value of the play is how high the 52 week high was and then look at the new low and try to find out really why it has bottomed out. Makes sense? Anyhow, if a stock was say 5 bucks and then is down to 50 cents there must be a reason why. Is it beat down because of bad news, bad managers, bad timing or maybe just bad shorters?? There are some that are obvious like Southwestern Resources SWG-T that was at 8 bucks plus and is now at 50 cent mark. That reason of course is really bad news. But what about others. There are lots. I remember around 1999-2000 when SouthernEra Diamonds had been a high flyer, became the dog of the year but next year became a Bay Street Darling. This company has since been taken over by Mwana Africa. There are lots of good little stocks that were high within the year but have gotten beat down for one reason or another.
When it comes to junior mining companies, good news in theory will shoot a stock higher. Bad news in theory will bring it down. But when you are exploring minerals not every result will be good news. We like to think that some news is just better than others. Today we find some small players with good plays, good results, good management, good news but nobody seems to care. And because of that the stock is at it's dismal 52 week lows. So now would good news and a happy market bring them back to their 52 week highs? All one needs in this market now is higher and firmer metal prices without the volatility and a more perceived value in the stock. Theory can be if the stock was say 3 bucks and is now a 50 cents, why couldn't the stock breach back to it's old high? In that case the stock could climb 500% plus. We all remember the two stock we told everyone about right here. those being Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache Coal GCE-T. Both of these were beat down to a pulp and are not up to and beyond their old 52 week highs.
Two small players that had good 52 week highs but are now skidding bottom. Hard Creek Nickel HNC and Messina Minerals MMI. Both with good projects. Hard Creek Nickel is working on a large deposit in Northern BC and Messina Minerals is working on a lead zinc project in Atlantic region of Canada. Check the chart on both of these. Both had nice highs and could, I say COULD very well reach back to those highs. And if you are into uranium JNR Resources JNN has gone from $4.40 down to $1.00.
On a larger priced play take a look at Fronteer Development Group FRG-T. This is not a penny play but it is a miner. The price is in the 5 buck range and does trade good volume.
Please do your own due diligence on these plays and please read our disclaimer.
Our silver stocks on watch,Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG along with our new watch Oroco Resource Corp. OCO.

New Month - New Quarter
April 2/2008
Metals are still in the chop shop. Although gold and silver have climbed somewhat there is going to most likely be a continued sideways chop. All the banking and credit crisis issues are taking the front seat exposure. Juniors and penny miners have always been know as high risk and so in a risky world we are at the bottom of the heap. Personally I feel that the best investment will be in a undervalued junior miner that has the goods in the ground and hopefully in the office.
Last time I wrote I mentioned a new junior Oroco Resource Corp. OCO. I received an email with a great write up on this new company. I urge you all to take a read and book mark this company or at least place the ticker into your portfolio to watch.
Also as an added note both this website and our junior miners site are sponsored in part by Eagle Plains Resources EPL. Be sure to take a look and check this junior out also. After going over their website I was actually amazed at the amount of projects these guys have on the go. There will be no shortage of activity and news as time goes one here. Here is a link to their website. And with a new month at junior miners comes a new featured junior miner. This month is Coro Mining Corp. COP-T. This miner is also quite new. Less than a year trading and is aiming to become a mid tier copper producer. The company has projects in Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
Bottom feeders with high volumes still include Blue Note Mining Inc. BN-T and Breakwater BWR-T.
Our silver stocks on watch,Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG.

New Penny Miner
Mar.26/2008
Well it is almost the end of the week here. Most of the week was getting the junior-miners newsletter done up and sent out. A far as commodity prices go everyone seemd to think that it will be a sideways chop for a while. We mentioned that back on the 10th of the month just before the huge run up. For those who are watching moly, Adanac Moly AUA-T has pulled off it's bottom even as they put out a new release stating they are in the midst of obtaining more money for their Ruby Creek Project. Keep a watch on this. Lots of people were touting buy, buy, buy at 1.60. during the summer months.
So what else is new. Oroco Resource Corp. OCO. That's what's new. Another new junior miner to add to your list of players in Mexico. They just started trading on the 18th here. 35 million shares and they have 100% ownership in gold and silver properties in Mexico. Stock price today closed at 60 cents. Here is a website link.
Another one coming off bottom? How about Blue Note Mining Inc. BN-T. This one has good volumes and should be watched closed now as base metals have mostly stalled out from their downward slide. zinc prices have bounced off the dollar mark now 3 times in as many months. That should indicated the bottom and support has been set in zinc prices so stocks could...I say could start to reflect that. Closed at 30 cents today, up 2 cents.
Our silver stocks on watch,Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG are trading pretty much flat in this market.

Here is something that smells a bit fishy. Silver sells off 2 bucks and yet there is a shortage of physical silver?? Read this
Bear Watch
Mar.19/2008
Talk about a sell off. Was this suppose to happen? When interest rates go down, doesn't that make borrowing easier? And doesn't that make the US dollar less attractive? And doesn't that make precious metals MORE attractive? That's what has been happening for last few years. These markets really makes one wonder. It's no wonder most people are just sitting on the side lines. Why trade anything? What are going to trade to? Nothing really seems to make sense. It's just like a big wash happening. Survival of the fittest.
Of course most of our stocks we watch are related to the metal prices themselves. Gold, silver, etc. and they all feel the effect.
Although we watch mostly silver plays right now there is a small sector of penny miners that we don't pay much attention to. These are the diamond players. They can be quite risky and volatile just like any others but they have the added feature of doing nothing until news is released. If you are watching a small spec miner that has some gold exposure, then the stock price can warrant a raise when the price of gold goes up. As most commodities rise, the juniors in involved and exposed to those commodities can feel the lift of optimism in the commodity price. But what about diamonds? They are not really traded on a spot market and their value is to a lot of people just perceived value. Nonetheless diamonds can be an investors best friend.
One of those diamond explores is Peregrine Diamonds PGD-T. The reason we are mentioning PGD today is that the stock price is at a 52 week low of 32 cents. The stock was as high as 2 dollars and some change. They have around 55 million shares and have some good projects on the go. With spring around the corner this is a stock to keep an eye on because their area of interest is the Baffin Island area and summer is the time to work. With 24 hours of daylight, these companies don't sleep during that time. That is the time results are brought in and news is made. As always do your research and DD before investing or speculating.
Still building our silver list so stop around often.

Welcome $21 Dollar Silver
Mar.16/2008
Well silver hit the $21 mark and flew right on by until trading started in the US. I think maybe there was margin calls for some so you got to unload some things to pay off other things. Usually the good things have to be scrapped to pay for the not so good things. Margin can be a real killer to your pocket book. Just ask any of those who were margined on some Bear Stearns. Wonder who is next. All this will just make penny miners more attractive. That is for those who have any money left. For all of us that are holding little jewels of stocks it is only good news around the corner. Silver and gold love uncertainty.
While looking for additional silver plays to watch Oro Silver OSR came up and is added to our list. So now we have 4 good quality silver plays so far. Oro Silver OSR has a properties in Mexico, priced just shy of $1.00 at present and has under 20 million shares. Trading volumes are light. 52 week rolling range, .50 - 1.20.
Oro Silver OSR is now added to Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and of course Golden Goliath GNG. We are still looking into other silver plays as well. Once we have a dozen GOOD ones we will post a list. Thanks to those who have contributed. Your DD and research is most appreciated.
Uranium stocks are sure not impressive either. It seems everything is just sitting flat. I notice trading volumes are really light with most also. For anyone wanting to play zinc that Breakwater BWR-T is skidding back down to 52 week lows.
Our Hard Assets Silver Program is now doubling itself. We are getting better than 1 new member an hour. Ed who runs the program figures we will be doubling membership each month. Total membership is now just under 300. There was only around 20 at the beginning of the year. Nothing shines like silver bullion. I think these bank scares makes some folks nervous. Check it out.

Knock, Knock, Whose There?
Mar.13/2008
$1000 DOLLAR GOLD. Thats who. Just last time I wrote I mentioned about Goldman Sachs Short gold in 08. What they should have said is go short Bear Stearns. WOW. Think of the bucks some guys who are short are rolling in. This is just the start. We think there will be a lot more crap hitting the fan yet. But I see today that they, Goldman see's oil at $175. Here is a link to that story. I see gold actually busted through the $1000 mark today on this news. Silver faired quite well also.
It was a week of weak trading in the pennies to say the least. Most of our stocks on watch barely traded, those that did had very little movement and volumes were no scream. Another day of dullsville. It should not last to much longer. It will only be a matter of time and juniors with goods will be highly sought after. Todays prices prices present great buying opportunities for those who have any cash left. The big money escapeing bad investments will filter though to places of good investment. The only place really left with an upside is the penny miners. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
Redcorp Ventures RDV-T is a stock on watch. We mentioned it along with Terrane Metals TRX over on juniorminers.com again because they are in line to be in the contender list for the next mine going into production in BC. The stock is really crappy right now as they are stuck in that ABCP Coventree mess. It trades between 25 -30 cents and has been for about 6 months. With metal prices continuing higher the money uncertainty may become less of an issue.
Speaking of juniorminers.com the featured miner there this month is Barker Minerals BML. I have been informed that they have had expressions of interest from several potential joint venture partners. Keep a watch on that. These days good news seems just wasted but you never really know how news will be interpreted.
Still on the silver watch is Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T, plus we can't forget Golden Goliath GNG.

A Time To Reflect
Mar.10/2008
News gets forgotten easily these days. It only take a minute and what was said is forgotten. Me, I like to to bring back old news once in a while. Now that gold has had a few bounces off of the $1000 buck mark, I often wonder about the fella from Goldman Sachs who back in Nov. said to go short on gold in 08. For those who need a refreshing to that story I have it right here. I think that some of these analysts should quit looking through their Microsoft windows and start look through their house windows while they still have a house. I can honestly say since running this website I have gotten more good sounding financial ideas from ordinary people than what anyone could pay for from ANY banking group.
Anyhow, gold was off today, so was silver. I said back on March 4 we would be choppy for a while. How long is a while? I don't know. As long as there is tears in beers about bad mortgages and bad credit the whole market will be spooked. But like I said earlier, news is forgotten fast.
Today was a great day to pick up some Great Panther Resources GPR-T. Silver Eagle SEG-T was off today also. In the not so distant future many will be kicking their butts big time for not loading up at times like these. I firmly believe the days are numbered till BBQ season and some shorts are going to be sizzling on a grill. Golden Goliath GNG was off a smidgen today also. This is a little junior that could be come a 10 bagger one day. Keep an eye out on this little fella
I think some people are starting to sense that the money situation with banking and all that is maybe running aground. One of the ways we can tell is today membership in the Hard Assets Silver Program shot up. Seems everyone want to get in on owning a bit of real tangible assets. Jim Sinclair over at the respected JSMineset website has advised all his readers to get into physical gold and silver. today he put out the call again.
Quote noted here: Eliminate as many intermediaries between you and your assets. Own the Swiss and Cando treasury instruments. Have at least 1/3 of your liquid net assets in gold and precious metal shares. For some it will be a lot more.

Hi Ho Silver Away
Mar.5/2008
Well like I said yesterday, if anyone was looking for a pull back or entry point, yesterday was the day. If you slept thru it you have just lost your chance to get in on a lot of value silver plays. After todays trading I think that the course is set. I do believe of course we will get a lot of other chances to buy in as we are not going to continue up with out a fight here or there. As long as stocks are going up there will be those who decide it may be a good idea to short. After reading today some articles here and there it is aparent that there will be some shorters joining the ranks of those who are being foreclosed on. I can see why the Rich Dad in his predictions for 2008 mentioned they were buying apartment and mobile home parks. All those losing homes got to move somewhere.
With all this action in gold and silver I wonder what those guys over at Goldman Sachs are thinking. Back in Nov they told clients to go short of gold. I have often wondered how many were sheep and just followed the idiots advise. Here is the story.
As far as trading today volumes were off quite a bit with the stocks we follow. Great Panther Resources GPR-T gained back what it had lost yesterday and is poised to run again.
BTW. Another dozen or so have joined the Hard Assets Silver Program just last night.

Mid Week News
Mar.4/2008
Well today saw a selloff of stocks. Interest rates got cut, gold, silver and other sold off. I see rhodium still went up today. In fact it went up $290. For any of you looking for an entry point into these silver plays you got one today. This pull back will be very short lived and we will be back to "onward and upward". Be prepared for a choppy ride for the next while.
Gitennes Exploration GIT-T had some new today which included two metres at 493 g/t silver and 3.05 g/t gold on their Urumalqui project in Peru.
Great Panther Resources GPR-T pulled back somewhat today to close at 1.56. The stock had popped a good 70% since we started coverage on the bottom.
Over at junior miners we have Barker Minerals BML as featured junior for the month of March. There is going to be some news going forward on this one. The last news release just this past week has gotten some attention and there could very well be some exciting things happening here in the future. The stock did a nice pop last month off bottom so if you are thinking about bottom feeding watch close. A large portion of the stock here, approx. 48 million is in the hands of insiders and a few others.
As far as other silver plays we are still looking into those quality undervalued plays. The ones we feel will have the most upside potential.
On an added note we now have over 150 members in our Hard Assets Silver Program. Up 20 since Friday.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, watch those pennies.
Next Stop For Silver? 20 BUCKS?
Feb.29/2008
Last time we wrote here we put out an invite for tips on real good silver plays. You see silver is going to go ballistic one of these days quick like and whether you are on board or not does not matter. It's going to go UP!. Common sense would tell you that with platinum and now palladium hitting these new highs all metals go for the same kind of ride.
Since the start of the new year which is just 2 months ago, silver has climbed from 15 bucks to a hair away from 20 bucks. That's like a 30% gain. Now I watch a lot of stock, especially penny mining stocks and I have not seen many penny mining stocks gain 25% in the past 2 months. Sure there is the old news out and the 3 day pop thing but how many have gained 25 - 30% and are holding. Most are dragging the 52 week lows. Having said that it is only a matter of time that the stocks will follow suit. So the question remains as to which ones are the very best. That being the ones that have the best value and the most upside potential for the long haul.
Also last writing I said that we are interested in stock that is pure silver plays. I should reinterpret that as "companies whose main focus is silver". We had one submission about two other stocks to add to your watch list. Genco Resources GGC-T. Genco is in Mexico, has only 40 million shares, just purchased a 3,000 ton per day ball mill. The second one is Silver Eagle SEG-T also in Mexico. 55 million shares, and also just purchased extra milling equipment. The thing to remember about silver and Mexico is that these two go hand in hand. Think new technologies and old proven mines and you have the ingredients for success and profits.
Ending the week our featured junior over at junior miners did well. Cadiscor Resources Inc. CAO had a nice 20 cent pop to hold at 70 cents.
Great Panther Resources GPR-T popped a nice 50% this week alone and Golden Goliath GNG finished up 3 at 31 cents.
And I see you can still buy Tagish Lake Gold TLG today for a dime. Keep them in mind as they do have silver.
On an added note we now have over 130 members in our Hard Assets Silver Program. People are starting to see the value of holding a bit of physical silver and how profitable this program really is. This is really the first of it's kind in history. Some people are doing very well and are now able to buy silver for as low as 10 dollars an oz. That is like half price. There is nothing wrong with having a bit of physical silver these days especially if there is a short run on the banks or more currency crisis issues.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next month, watch those pennies.
The New Rush
Feb.26/2008
Over the last few months since November we have talked about Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache Coal GCE-T. These two coal stocks returned 3-400% in as many months. Now others are starting to tout coal as a buy. On a personal note I feel that when the mainstream media gets a hold of something it is time to move on. Now of course the masses will move in on some of these plays and if you have bought at the bottom of these two start to maybe take a profit. You can hold if you wish as there is nothing wrong with these two stocks.
Having said that we are looking into silver and silver stocks. Today alone the price of silver is up 65 cents an oz. Since Jan. the first of the year, just 2 months ago, silver has gone from 15 bucks to 18.60. That is a wee bit over a 20% increase. That is roughly 10% per month. With this trend continuing, silver could be 30 bucks very easily by the end of the year. So if you are riding silver physical you could be up 100% on your money. If you are riding the RIGHT SILVER play you could be up way past that 100% because of the undervalued price of most silver stocks.
What we are saying is that from now on most of our focus will be on silver. We will still be involved in other small plays, finding bottomed out plays and hopefully finding some plays that will reward us like our two little coal stocks. Please accept this as an invite to send in any silver plays you feel are of quality, undervalued, bottomed out and have nowhere to go but up. What important things are we looking for? Properties or projects that are NI 43-101 compliant resource and where the company holds 100% ownership in their properties
Whats on watch for silver? Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Golden Goliath GNG so far. We are looking at others. We had one submitted yesterday from a reader at junior miners that we will look into a bit more and if it is of quality we will post it here. Yes, I really feel there is a silver lining on this recession cloud.

Silver In The Spotlight
Feb.24/2008
Well this past week it was silvers turn to make new highs. Broke thru the 18 buck mark. When it come to penny mining stocks, some of the best valued miners are silver miners. With the right conditions, silver can be very profitable. This in part is because of the so very many uses that silver has. Not only as a precious metal in currencies, but also in industrial, technolgical, and even medical uses. Silver is the most well rounded of the metals. Of course, you can use the platimun group of metals also, but at prices over $2000 bucks an oz, it doesn't take long for those who need to find other alternatives. Personal opinion here but I think silver is the best poised for the upside. Like our little coal stocks Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache Coal GCE-T, why settle for 30% returns when 3-400% are available to be had? Take this as an invitation to forward any silver stocks that you think have the greatest upside. Let me and our other readers know.
The junior miners featured penny stock Cadiscor Resources Inc. CAO this week fared quite well from the mid 40's to over 60 cents intra-day and settled just shy of 60 cents.
Another new penny PRICED miner here that is getting active again and had a nice run is Caldonia Mining CAL-T. This company has been around for a long time but just got beat down over the years. They are in Afica and into developing a cobalt deposit. Remember not long ago we talked about cobalt. It's one of those little rare unheard of metals. Of course the other cobalt penny miner that we talked about here and over at junior miners was Formation Capital FCO-T. These guys operate in Idaho. They have been flat line trading between 60-65 cents now for over a month.
Also this week we finally had some decent trading with Starfield Resources SRU-T. No news but if this past week is telling us something of weeks to come it is sure a good sign.
What can you buy for a dime? Well, you can buy Tagish Lake Gold TLG. If you are interested in Yukon gold mining, in a proven area, then this maybe one to watch. I am not sure how long they have been there but it has been several years. Volume can be light at times but it does look like bottom has been hit.
Also our Hard Assets Silver Program we are involved in has shot past 100 members now. I think around 120 have joined. With silver climbing higher each week there is little doubt that 30 buck silver will be in store befor the year end you may very well want to consider a bit of physical silver.
As always, please read our disclaimer and do Due Diligence.
Until next time, watch those pennies.
What's Hot Mid week?
Feb.20/2008
Last week we had a tip come in from a reader to watch out for Leeward Capital LWC. Well this week they had a new release. An inferred resource of 84.3 MT of 0.028% Mo at their Gamma zone at the Nithi Mountain project. Stock was halted for a bit then a nice pop. Remember this is just a few kilometers away from the Endako Mine. This will be one to keep a watch on.
We also got an another stock tip from a small junior in Turkey. Mediterranean Resources MNR-T is working on a NI 43-101 compliant resource, holds 100% ownership in their properties, cash on hand and around 80 million shares. And the stock is 20 cents! If you are a bottom feeder here is one to look at. As you may weel know we have some standards for choosing bargain stocks. It's OK to have cheap stock but we want value also.
Our featured stock over at junior miners had a pop here in the last few days. Cadiscor Resources Inc. CAO drilled 1.6 m of 13.1 g/t gold at Sleeping Giant. Stock saw a pop.
Geeeze I don't know what to say. We been touting coal here for months and these 2 sweetheart coal stocks of ours Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache Coal GCE-T just won't quit going up. In the past 2-3 months these stocks have turned rewarded stockholders with 3 - 400% returns.
You know we got our finger on 2 real neat undervalued penny miners here. Golden Arrow Resources GRG and the second is Gitennes Exploration GIT-T. Both got projects in Peru. I see that Golden Arrow Resources GRG is coming off bottom nice now. BTW we don't own any.
We get a lot of emails asking about the Hard Assets Silver Program we are
