Another Active REE ??
June 11/2009
Just a quick note here today to tell everyone about a smaller stock that is starting to get a bit more active in trading volume. We don't really follow this stock but it was on an older list we had a few years back. Great Western Minerals GWG is the player here. Up 20% today on over 2 million shares. They did have some news at the start of the month. Might be worth doing some DD on this one.
Copper prices up again today. So was our Western Copper WRN-T that we are following. Like we mentioned before this up over 100% in less than a months time. You can't get better returns than that especially in these kinds of market conditions. Copper Fox CUU had a bit of a sell off.
Silver rallied nice today but none of the stocks we watch did much at all. Likewise for gold plays. Same old ho-hum attitude. Although our First Majestic FR-T warrants that we purchased are up to 99 cents now. That over a 100% pop in a few months. As mentioned last writing or so, there is a lot of rumors of gold doing a hard run this month. Same as silver. Don't know why. Let's wait and see.
On of our gambler plays we had over at juniorminers.com was a small oil and gas services company. Leader Energy LEE was having a tough time raising money and the stock price reflected that fact. After skidding along at 3 cents for most of the year, we see it is now 10 cents. Just came off a 12-13 cent run. There is some news that they had sold some property down in Michigan USA. If things keep going like this we may have to take this one off the gamblers list.
Speaking of gambles, looks like Redcorp RDV-T is not doing well. Noticed a new article about courts/receivers/legal/you get the picture /. One has to wonder what will happen to their TC mine and deposit. Lots of gold there. Silver and copper and zinc too.

Copper Play On A Run
June 9/2009
About 3 weeks ago we started to tell people about Copper Fox CUU and told them to put it on their radar. It was 7-8 cents then. Guess what?? It's 100% UP right now and trading like crazy. Speaking of copper, Western Copper WRN-T that we mentioned a week or 2 ago also just keeps climbing higher.
In silver, Silvermex SMR is trading up nice today. They just acquired a 100-per-cent interest in the silver-gold-lead-zinc Rosario property located in Sinaloa Mexico from Aurcana AUN. Aurcana stock right now is at 52 weeks lows. We followed this play over the past few years because we at penny mining stocks just LOVE silver.
Oil and gas. We followed a few small plays over time but not to the extent of mining plays. For those who are looking at maybe getting into a small oil play we found a smaller company that has only 30 million shares and is looking poised to continue an upward trend. That company is Second Wave SCS. The trading volume is like a lot of smaller oil plays these days. As in nil to very little, but the volume seems to be picking up here in June along with the rise in stock price. As far as debt, cash on hand etc. we haven't looked into that really that much so make sure you do your own DD.
Uranium player Alberta Star ASX has been getting a bit active also. We have this ticker on a back burner and take a glance at it now and then. A nice 12% pop today and steady volume tells us maybe to put this one back on the radar for a bit. We followed Pure Point PTU for a long time but quit watching after the stock fell below a 5 cents on weak trading volumes. The one thing about Pure Point is that they have a massive amount of land holdings so if and when uranium starts to get interesting, players like this will shine. Or shall we say "glow"?
Let's see how the rest of the trading week goes. Rumor on a lot of boards from what we hear is that gold is going to explode to the upside. Wouldn't that be nice. There is Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T shareholders who would love to see it happen.

Another Choppy Week
June 6/2009
Well gold and silver sure got slammed again but a lot of the stocks stayed put. I am starting to think that a lot of the long holders of these plays are hanging in and the last of weak hands are being shook out. Of course we still have the usual day traders on higher volume players doing the regular buying and selling.
Some base metal plays did well this week. Notice Western Copper WRN-T ? Sure a nice pop this week. We mentioned right here back the first part of May that things were getting a bit stirred up with this miner. Sure enough, for those who noticed and maybe got in on a few shares, you have done really well. Speaking of active copper players, Copper Fox CUU is getting active. You may just want to put this on on your radar for a bit to see what happens.
Our favorite zinc player, Breakwater BWR-T also seems to be doing very well. Remember this is a play that you could have filled your boots with for 5-6 cents just 6 months ago. Now here we are up 4-500%. If you can't make money with penny mining stocks, you can't make money period. Rule #1 for finding gold is to look where gold has been found. Same applies for looking for mining stocks. Find players with deposits that are being mined.
Potash. We followed some potash plays here a bit last year and we get the odd email asking about potash and what we think. The thing about potash is that the commodity itself is not really traded openly. It's kind of like DeBeers in the diamond business. What you have is big companies like Potash Corp. POT-T of Sask. controlling the vast amount of potash and setting the prices. Then along comes some small players like Potash One Inc. KCL and Raytec RAY, both of whom we followed last year. Pricing of the product and getting the product to markets can be the tough part. This product also hinges on farming and by how much the farmer is willing to pay for potash. Potash One Inc. KCL has seen it's stock price double in the last month while Raytec RAY has been flat for quite some time.

Another Reason To Invest In Gold
May 31/2009
Well the plate below says it all. Here is the largest corporation in the world .... Bankrupt! What does that say about about the country?? When you really think about it there really is nothing much else of value to invest aside from gold and silver. This is what will make penny mining companies ..... SHINE!
Great Week For Silver Plus A New Moly Play
May 29/2009
For the past 2 months we have been yacking silver. Silver this, silver that. Actually since the new year we been talking silver and we are still talking positive about the metal. We even had a few emails from readers crying foul on silver. One said it's dead, whatever that means. But hey ... it's not just us here. Even some big wigs that write for Marketplace have silver in the news. Read This Anyhow, looking at the chart below you will see that the flat 200MA is more than $3.00 away yet. Which means ??? There is whole lot of catch up that has to be done.
For those who are holding silver in bullion form or in stock this week was yours. First Majestic FR-T did well this week. As mentioned before we bought those warrants back a month or two when they first came out. A real no brainer. Those little jewels are up 200% now and still have nothing but upside. With a bit over 20 months left they will become an investors best friend. We mentioned about them here back on April 2.
Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Endeavour Silver EDR-T traded well as did Silvercorp Metals SVM-T and Silver Wheaton SLW-T. Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T sold off today but was up 10% yesterday and well up on the week. Novagold NG-T saw nice gains as well.
What about moly? Some say that this year is going to see some molymania. While we are always almost looking at North American penny miners and mostly Canadian miners at that, we sometimes forget about miners from abroad. While researching moly we came across a small moly miner from Australia. Moly Mines Ltd. MOL-T is the miner we are looking into. With around 90 million shares and priced in the 30 cent range, this company is developing the Spinifex Ridge Molybdenum Project in Western Australia. The company also trades on the ASX in Australia. So if you are interested in a moly play outside of North America, here is one to check out.
Other moly miners to watch are Creston Moly CMS and Adanac Moly AUA-T. Adanac has the Ruby Creek Project in Atlin with a large mine ready proven resource. Problem is, you guessed it ......$$ money $$. Until that issue gets settled it's buyer beware. Although with moly prices on the rise there is always the chance of investors with deep pockets arriving on the scene.
Note: No news next week as we are out for a bit getting things ready to do some mineral exploration of our own here.

Mid Week Chart
May 27/2009
Because we are into penny mining stocks a lot of these small players will follow the larger ones in time. The HUI is an indicator or basket of mid to large cap mining players.
How Would You Like Your Stock Done? Rare Please.
May 26/2009
Back on May 12th we mentioned a small company that was brought to our attention. That company was Sarissa Resources SRSR and their Niobium property in Ontario. It is one of those rare earth element plays. Well that stock has popped 100% +. A big thank you to all those who sent in emails requesting Sarissa Resources SRSR to be mentioned.
In keeping with REE plays we also got a notice of 2 other plays that popped also. Those being Commerce Resources CCE and Rare Earth Elements RES. We did notice that RES did put out a PR stating that they do now know why they stock went up. Other penny miners to watch also are TNR Gold TNR and Avalon Rare Metals AVL-T. In keeping with REE stocks Formation Capital FCO-T could also be concidered an REE plays as it is in the search for cobalt and Idaho.

Great Week For Gold & Silver
May 23/2009
Precious metals did well this week. And with that so did some of the metal miners. First Majestic FR-T did exceptionally well. As mentioned before we do own some First Majestic, namely their warrants. Northgate Minerals NGX-T did well as did Novagold NG-T.
One of the silver players we watch that has done really well also on light trading volumes is Golden Goliath GNG. This stock hit a low of 4 cents back in December and is now sitting at .18 cents. Lots of potential here in this Mexico silver play. Silver miner Endeavour Silver EDR-T is another miner that is doing well now that silver prices are on a roll. We expect silver prices to continue up from now on. There is just to much uncertainty in the currency and credit markets these days.
Creston Moly CMS is getting a bit active lately also. Trading volumes have picked up somewhat. We mentioned them way back in around October here as a moly play. Put them on your radar.
You will notice we are selling an ebook about Investing In Mining Stocks. This is an excellent book for around 20 bucks. In times like this with tight money, wise investors are placing their bets on only high value stocks. Mining companies with goods and value. This book explains all the ins and outs of buying these types of penny mining stocks. For the price of an online trade the book can be yours. Great value for newbies and old sourdoughs too.
Some people are asking if we still like Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T after it was chopped down by half. The answer is yes, we still like Tanzanian Royalty. In fact we like it even more. Now that the stocks has based in the upper 3 buck range and trading volumes are low now would be a good time to add to the pot. With analysts and gold experts talking $1,200 gold soon, good royalty plays like this are going to shine.

Great Day For Gold & Silver
May 20/2009
Both silver and gold posted nice gains today. With the US dollar dropping gold and silver really have no other place to go but up. Let's hope this trend continues for a while. Long term our view is that it will. We are still looking at a reasonable $19-$20 dollar silver this summer and a $1,200 gold. That's just our view.
Anybody like placer plays? We followed Prize Mining PRZ a bit last year as they were working on their yellow jacket property around Atlin BC. If you are interested in placer gold plays another penny miner to watch here is Northbay Resources NBRI.PK. Northbay has a lot of placer properties in the lower BC area. The stock trades on the pink sheets at present. The reason this one is brought to your attention is because we have been getting a few emails from readers who are looking for US listed players. So there you go. Look them up. Small placer gold play for a penny. Here is their website.
On our silver watch, First Majestic FR-T shot up 13% today. The warrants also did well, hitting a new high. We bought these warrants for a longer term hold.
In uranium plays we noticed that JNR Resources JNN has seen some higher trading volumes this past few weeks. Take a peek a one year chart.

Penny Miners Still Stuck
May 19/2009
We've been watching a lot of penny mining stocks and most seem stuck in the NO TRADE trend. It is really surprising to see so many small players go for days on end without trading. Small players and these aren't really small in their holdings like Gitennes GIT-T, X-Cal XCL-T Hard Creek Nickle HNC-T and this list can on forever. 7-8 years ago when gold was in the low 300's per oz. these stocks use to trade like mad. Stocks like Kalahari Resources KLA were day traders dreams because of trading volumes and spreads. This small stock has hardly budged in the last year. Caladonia CAL-T use to be a favorite of mine. Even smaller Tanqueray Resources TQY could be flipped a few times a year for the old same and easy double. Not no more.
Gold up nice. Silver, you see silver? Up like gold except even nicer. Back on the 12th we posted a small chart that we feel fits well for silver. Mid term trend could very well be around 19 bucks an oz. Of course we are silver bulls here at penny mining stocks. During a recession/depression we think that most metals will lag except gold for it's save haven and security and silver for the same being it is a poors man gold. And there are a lot of poor men and ladies alike out there right now. Thus our theory on the subject. Copper will also do well. We been keeping our eyes on some copper players. Players like IMA Resources IMR and Capstone CS-T are on a watch here.

News Mid-Week
May 14/2009
This past week we have been getting emails from readers telling us about different stocks out there that may deserve some attention. We already mentioned Sarissa Resources SRSR and their Niobium property in Ontario. We will be doing a bit more follow up with them as well. Now we want to bring to everyones attention another small gold miner that is developing in an area of old mines in Colorado. That small company is Colorado Goldfields CGFIA. The stocks is well off it's 52 week highs right now, trades a high volume, just published an independent technical 43-101 reserve estimate report in March of this year. The company seems very aggressive with it's marketing to shareholders etc. The company is actively looking into a potential merger. For those who are looking to get in on low priced stock this may be worth a look. Remember to do your DD. We will continue looking into this small gold player along with Sarissa Resources. You can view Colorado Goldfields website here.
A lot of people get upset seeing their penny miners in the tank. For some it is kind of crappy if they have been in for the long haul and have been holding some stock for quite a while. But if you look around we are not sitting all that bad. For some gold and silver plays they have performed extremely well since the new year began. I was looking at charts of some of those widely held big name stocks like Nortel NT-T and Air Canada AC.A-T. Not a pretty picture at all.
View a year of the high flying Air Canada chart here.

Silver In The Spot Light?? Part 2
May 12/2009
Silver today continued it's upward move. The chart we posted over the weekend is pointing to $19-$20 silver. And that price could very well be in the very near future. I know there are arguments against higher silver prices because of the slower demand in industry for the metal, but what a lot of people seem to forget is that silver can be used as a currency. This the reasoning as a precious metal.
Silver stocks faired Ok today too. We've been following First Majestic FR-T and did pick up some of the warrants back in the first part of April. With 2 years on these warrants there is a very good chance for a very nice upside. If interested be aware that volume is extremely thin. These warrants are kind of set and forget for a year or so. Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Endeavour Silver EDR-T both posted nice gains. In gold stocks both Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T and Nova Gold NG-T did well. Up 5% and 12% respectively.
Over the weekend I got 4 emails from readers and followers of small penny miner explorer that is listed in the US. I was asked to do some DD on this company which I am doing at present. So far what I can tell you is that the company is about to release a 43-101 compliance report on one of their properties in the near future. That property is a Niobium property in Ontario. The company is Sarissa Resources SRSR. Now one of the questions is "What is NIOBIUM?" So we went to wiki to find out. Niobium is a rare, soft, grey, ductile transition metal, used mostly in alloys, the largest part in special steel such as that used in gas pipelines. Although alloys contain only a maximum of 0.1%, that small percentage of Niobium improves the strength of the steel.
This stock could be compared to one of those rare earth element plays as Niobium and Tantalum are concidered REE's. Trading volume is high but so is the float. Over 700 million shares. The company has well experienced proven management in place. The stock trades on the pink sheets.
As our readers know we don't recommend buys or sells of any stocks. We are going to continue to review information about his company and will post more information in time. We are also looking at another US listed gold play and hope to have some information before the weeks end on that. But in the meantime, do some of your own DD on Sarissa Resources. You can get that information from their website here.
Copper miners. It looks like Western Copper WRN-T is getting itchy and wants to move higher. You may want to put them on your radar.
And finally, for those who live in BC, it's election day so make sure you get out and make your vote count. Not a big variety of parties to choose from and if you are undecided you can just go ene meany miny moe. Liberals, NDP & Green. I don't know if the marijuana party is running here again.

Silver In The Spot Light??
May 10/2009
For those who have been around here for a while, you will know that we are very bullish on silver. Our end of year predictions were geared towards silver. After silver dropped into the $9 buck range and all the doom and gloom was been talked about, we went out and bought more. Our feelings are that aside from some penny silver mining stock that can go ballistic, physical silver bullion will be the biggest bang for your buck right now. And we are not the only die hard silver bugs out there. There's a lot of us. Check out the chart below. Something is in the wind.
Let's see how this weeks trading treats the silver and gold bulls. Silver plays to watch include, Silvercorp Metals SVM-T and Silver Wheaton SLW-T also First Majestic FR-T and Endeavour Silver EDR-T. Also Golden Goliath GNG along with Oro Silver OSR and Great Panther Resources GPR-T.
Have a great trading week. Happy Mom's day to any Moms out there.

End Of The Week
May 8/2009
Zinc miner Breakwater BWR-T was a shining start this week. Last month you could have bought a mitt full of these shares for 10 cents a pop. Today ??? .... 30 cents!! Another little jewel that is starting to make some waves here is uranium miner Can-Alaska CVV. This little stock was once a featured miner over at juniorminers.com. Light volumes compared to some but looking like it has based well. Lead miner Ivernia IVW-T, up a whopping 45% today. Could be because of their financing. Watch Monday.
Both gold and silver did well this week also. Silver at $14 US now and gold holding over $900 boads well for juniors that are exposed to these commodities. Of course while uncertainty in the US dollar and economy spells disaster for some, it brings smiles to the faces of those who are holding bullion and are invested into well positioned and capitalized miners.
Some action is coming back in the coal arena again. We followed coal for quite a while and did very well with a few plays until spring of 2008. Now after some time of being based in the lows, both Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache GCE-T look like they be ready to move. Put these 2 coal plays on your radar.
On the potash trend Allana AAA seems to be getting active again. Price is up slightly but volume has been huge compared to other months. Adanac Moly AUA-T getting more active also. Be cautious about them because of credit issues and we still have low moly prices.
Speaking of commodity prices copper seems to be holding well in the 2 buck range. Capstone CS-T is doing well and the volume has increased dramatically. Western Copper WRN-T also is seeing some renewed interest.
With gold prices now seeming to be stable around the $900 and above mark and a lot of talk these days about gold hitting $1,200 this summer, we are seeing a lot of requests now for mining equipment and mining properties. Just letting everyone know that we have mineral properties listed for sale over at juniorminers.com for-sale page. These claims are not ours, we just list them for others. Also if you have claims or mineral properties for sale you can list them with us as we do get a lot of lookers now every day.

Place Your Bets On GOLD. Part 2
May 6/2009
Here is a good reason to just buy gold or silver or some good quality gold stock. General Motors announced today that they are going to do a 1 for 100 share split. WOWS-ERS!! That is criminal. Remember when Nortel NT-T was about $120, then fell to about $1.00 or so?? They then did a 1 for 10 split and the stock went up to about $20.00. Now it's right back down into the pennies. So you had say 100 shares, ended up with 10 new ones and those new ones are worthless. I'd say it's time to get out. This GM thing is even worse. A whole 100 times worse.
Read the story here.
Stocks on a rebound. We followed Breakwater BWR-T a lot. Good old zinc miner. These shares were down to about 5-6 cents. Up to 23-24 cents now. A nice 300% + run up. Golden Goliath GNG our little silver play also doing well. We have to admit that maybe, just maybe Silvercorp Metals SVM-T is going to make a run for it and get out of that range bound area it has been trading in for so long.
Charts of interest:

We have always said that silver will be the commodity to watch in 2009. Whether it be a stock or physical bullion, silver is in. Be sure to follow our silver plays close. Silvercorp Metals SVM-T and Silver Wheaton SLW-T also First Majestic FR-T and Endeavour Silver EDR-T.

Place Your Bets On GOLD
April 26/2009
Betting against gold is the same as betting on governments.
He who bets on governments and government money bets against 6,000 years of recorded human history. Charles De Gaulle
Truer words couldn't be expressed. This past week saw gold close back above the $900 mark. There are a lot of T/A people out there who are suggesting the spring is ready to be sprung. Not only in gold but also in silver. Copper also has been hovering around the $2 mark. You may remember that our New Years predictions were for for silver and copper to see the largest turnarounds. Although the commodity has turned around the stocks prices haven't faired so well. Most copper plays are still quite low. Capstone CS-T has gain a bit of ground this week. Northgate NGX-T also seems to be turning around.
In golds this week Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T still down although it did close up from the previous day. Silver plays did quite well also.
We can't forget about another commodity that is starting to show action. Uranium. This past week saw a new uranium mine being opened in Kazakhstan by Uranium One UUU-T. What is big new is that the mine was partly financed by six Japanese power companies. The Japanese know all to well that the expansion of nuclear plants is going to put pressure on uranium supplies in the next few years.
We will be gone this next week so there will be no news.

Mid Week
April 22/2009
Well thus far keeping an eye out on our picks has been quite futile to say the least here so far this week. Our Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T had a small rally but has since sold off and the others, Freewest FWR and Golden Goliath GNG and Adanac Moly AUA-T have done little as well. Some silver players have performed quite well this week. Those being Silvercorp Metals SVM-T and Silver Wheaton SLW-T
Oil is back under $50 and natural gas is now hovering around $3.50. That's not good for those who are thing about small oil and gas plays. Worse if you are into the service provider type of stocks. With prolonged slowdown a lot of these small service stocks may be going the way of some home owners or auto manufacturers. Small producers like Petro Star PEP and Panterra PAN are at 52 week lows. Service provider Leeder Energy LEE also at lows hardly even trades these days. Nordic Oil NOG which we followed has come off it's bottom lows.
For those who follow uranium plays, Denison Mines DML-T has seen it's volumes have a bit higher and the stock has risen quite nice. This is a $1.50 stock that had a $9 high in the last 52 weeks. Also Sherrit S-T has really been on a tear. We have been watching since the $2 mark. Kind of a shame we never bought. HHmmmmm ... oh well maybe next time.

$1500 Gold In 2009 ??
April 19/2009
Ever wonder how high the price of gold will get to? There are some like Alf Fields who feel gold could hit $10,000. After all rhodium did just last year. There are others who feel $5-$6000 gold is well within reach.
An article this weekend has the writer feeling $1500 gold is in store for us this year. That has us here wondering what will happen to silver. As many of you already know we are silver buffs through and through. Anyhow ... you can read about the $1500 gold this year Right Here!
Staying on the topic of higher gold, we do follow some info from the gold and oil guy. As you can see by the charts below showing the HUI and EOD Miners Index we are in an upward trend and on the bullish side.

Well This Week Is Over
April 17/2009
Not that bad of week if you were one who bought some Adanac Moly AUA-T earlier for around 1 cent or so. Nice pop on news up over 400% before settling back down. Another flyer for the week also was Sherrit S-T. This is one of those larger players we watched for a bit after it had tagged the 2 buck mark earlier in the season.
Freewest FWR was also a bit active this week. A nice 50% plus pop. Western Coal WTN-T had a good pop on coal talks. We still follow these plays. You will remember back in 2007 we had this on watch and pulled over 300% profit. Some stayed on and went for even more. Now that WTN and Grand Cache GCE-T have settle back toward 52 week lows we want to be alert of any action.
Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T pulled back to the plus side. The stock lost about 50% this week after a hatchet job article from barrons. I got some posted below. Might be a good time to get in or add to the pot if you are playing TNX.
Gold kept slipping this week along with silver. Good time to be buying some silver bullion. I have. You will be glad you have some bullion in a year or so. Watch your copper stocks too. Copper is trading around that 2 buck mark.
We are still watching silver plays. Golden Goliath GNG along with Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T. Golden Goliath GNG is nicely getting over being on bottom. We have always liked this play because of their land holdings in Mexico. By the way we have added First Majestic FR-T and Endeavour Silver EDR-T to that silver list.

Hatchet Job. Lousy Journalism. Part 2
April 13/2009
Had to have a laugh today at what some have written on some bull boards today about Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T. To anyone who has researched TNX to any degree would know that what was written was a sign of desperation as a last ditch effort of a basher or shorter. All we can say is that author missed the truths and in our opinion, skewed the facts.
Anyways here is some of the comments made:
Poster smilley wrote: This is a gift!!! JS warned us about these tactics just recently and if I recall correctly, it was Barrons that did the hatchet job on Royal Gold a few years ago. Dajavu!!! April 13/2009
Over the weekend there was news bits out about one of the stocks we have been following. The stock in question is Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T. Barrons did an interview with the CEO Jim Sinclair, then twisted things around to the benefit of the short side. In our opinion this is the worst of journalism around. Pathetic!!
First and foremost the author says nothing of the fact that Jim Sinclair is the main financier of TNX, nor does the author mention that TNX is not a mining company. TNX is basing itself as a gold royalty company. Gold royalty companies work in a different manner altogether than mining companies. That is what makes them unique.
A few years ago Bloomberg did a story of much the same on Royal Gold RGL-T. After the dust had settled it was found out that Bloomberg had gotten there information from someone who had a huge short position on the stock. Like Jim Sinclair said last week on his website.... "DIRTY TRICKS". Maybe with the uptick rule looking at being reinstated as some have mentioned, this is the last hurrah for the shorters. To find out what Jim Sinclairs response to the article was about you can read that here.
High flying silver. Mercator Minerals ML-T has started to ship silver now. Once this happens where they catch the eye of the institutional investors. Bigger money, more trading volume etc.

The HUI. The Junior Miners Guide
April 8/2009
Traders use charts and indexes. Plain and simple. Most times the simpler the better. Keeping things simple we like to use the HUI as it is a representative case of a basket of different mining stocks. Some times to our dismay it is a basket case but we still use it as a guide. Take note of the chart below. Are we going to head up from here?

News out about Adanac Moly AUA-T getting an extention with creditors this week. This may help the moly miner gain some air while it looks for more cash. Time was extended till July 3. As mentioned earlier Redcorp RDV-T also is under creditor protection.
For those who like to trade warrants, Breakwater BWR-T issued a pile of them. A few hundred million. Each unit consists of one common share and one-half of one warrant. Each whole warrant entitles the holder to purchase one common share of the company at a price of 12 cents per share on or before 5 p.m. (Toronto time) on the date that is five years following the date of the closing of offering.
Stocks on trend. One of our picks, Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T is still long term trending up. Higher highs and higher lows.
Watch the dips on Endeavour Silver EDR-T also. Good time to add to the pot if you are in that stock.
Big sell off in Goldsource Mines Inc. GXS today. Not as much coal as some had hoped. The stock lost about 35% in todays trading.

Q1 Is Done
April 2/2009
Well the first quarter of 2009 is over and done with. The world is still ticking away and the recession is now sounding more and more like a depression. Gold is hanging in well in the $900 US range and silver is in the $13 dollar range.
Over the past month Redcorp RDV-T came out saying that they are seeking creditor protection. Money problems. Seems to be the chant of all companies these days. Adanac Moly AUA-T is also in the same boat looking for extra cash. One has to wonder if anything positive is going to come out of all this money mess.
At the start of the year we had a few stocks put on our watch. These plays were in silvers, Silver Wheaton SLW-T and Silvercorp Metals SVM-T. In golds we have Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T, Eldorado ELD-T and Nova Gold NG-T.
So how have these plays performed so far? Well Silver Wheaton SLW-T up over 100%. Silvercorp Metals SVM-T up 45%. Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T up 50%. Eldorado ELD-T up 50+% and Nova Gold NG-T up also 50+%. We have also added 2 more silvers to watch. First Majestic FR-T and Endeavour Silver EDR-T. First Majestic FR-T just issued some warrants that look attractive and for those who are technical traders, Endeavour Silver EDR-T is having a nice cup and handle formation.

Gold Closing In On $1000.00 Again
Feb. 19/2009
The price of gold is closing in on the $1000 US mark again. It was 1 year ago in March that gold hit the $1030 mark. Having said that, most small gold plays are just that. SMALL. In price that is.
News came out from Redcorp RDV-T that they may not complete the Tulsequah Chief mine sent their share price to the basement. Right down to 1 cent. Close to 75 million shares traded in the past 2 days alone. Once the dust settles on this news we believe we could see the stock back up to to where it was. This company has good proven reserves and properties in Portugal also. We still maintain that good properties will be highly sought after and companies with extra cash on hand will be out buying before risking it on exploration. One has to rember that these are mineral properties and not foreclosed homes. Last fall Adanac Moly AUA-T put their Ruby Creek Project on hold. That's 2 mines in Northern BC that were going to be built, not happening any time soon.
Larger plays so far this week have faired quite well. On the larger silver plays, Silver Wheaton SLW-T and Silvercorp Metals SVM-T are up. In golds, Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T, Eldorado ELD-T and Nova Gold NG-T all up so far this week.
Looking back at some of the oil and gas plays we watched, most are on bottom with little activity in trading. Although Petro Star PEP saw it's stock take a very nice pop on news, up almost 30% and Panterra PAN saw a large volume of trading activity today. Maybe some news around the corner??
That's all for now. Once again we will be off for a few weeks so news will be a bit more sporadic.

Silver up 52%
Feb. 14/2009
Happy valentines day to all. We just noticed that silver is up 52% from it's 52 week low. Are we on a roll yet? Still hard to tell as most penny stock plays are still just that. Pennies. Although on the other hand larger players like Silver Wheaton SLW-T and Silvercorp Metals SVM-T have done very well. We also mentioned back around the new year to keep an eye out on Nova Gold NG-T. Back then they were around the 1.80 dollar mark and are now up a whoppy 200% +. Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T on the other hand has not performed as well but it is still up about 30%.
Keeping with silver FVI is another small play that has done a very nice bottom and is heading back up with a nice trend line.
We are always on the lookout for small plays of interest. Every once in a while someone writes in to mention a certain stock that they feel is un-noticed and every so often we even get the PR people from small juniors contact us. This week we had a small company brought to our attention. It's another moly play and like some people say this could be a year for moly mania. The company is Avanti Mining AVT. The stock is a thin trader but should not be over looked as a longer term hold. The stock has just under 100 million shares and does have some promising property. Avanti is the owners of the Kitsault deposit which is one of the top five primary Molybdenum development assets worldwide. You can check out their website right here. Do your DD as always.
Lots of talk these days about the those gold ETF's. Seems some are now wondering if they even have any gold or if it is just paper certificates. Thats one of the reasons why we have been quite vocal on this site about actual ownership of the PHYSICAL gold and silver. With so many banks going under these days and so many misguided ideas about metal investing it is a comfort to know that having the real physical hold it in your hands is really the only way to go.
Base metal stocks still in the dumps these days. One of our watched Breakwater BWR-T is still in a holding pattern. Like wise with coal stocks such as Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache GCE-T although trading volumes are getting quite volitile.
News out for Redcorp RDV-T about getting their money that was lost in the ABCP issues for the past year or so. Didn't do a thing for the stock price. Still sitting at 3-4 cents.
For those interested in accumulating silver on a networking plan, our program has seen a HUGE jump in members this past month. With silver now up 52% from its low people are climbing on board and telling others and are getting FREE bonus silver within their first month. Things have sure come along way with this program since it was started back in November of 2007. We have way over 1000 members lapping up silver bullion each and every month. Hats off to all of our members. If you would like to know more you can find out right here.
That's all for now. Once again we will be off for a few weeks so news will be a bit more sporadic.

Free & Easy Money. For Nothing!!
Jan. 2/2009
With all the bail out news going on these days in the US and with the auto makers in Canada getting some tax payer loot, I am wondering just how long it will be until companies like Nortel Networks NT-T and maybe Bombardier Inc BBD.B-T come a knocking. Nortel from reading various articles seems to be in tough shape and Bombardier was always in the news before needing funding for something. Nortel had a roll back with their stock just a few years back and now their stock is right back down to where it was before. One has to really wonder about those bank ANALysts that were out touting buys over the past few years.
First trading of 2009 and Breakwater BWR-T is up 50%! Most of the golds we watch were trading down to flat on lighter volume. Monday should be a different story as trading gets back into full swing.
Once again we will be off for a few weeks so news will be a bit more sporadic.

Happy New Year
Looking Back In 08 & Ahead In 09
Dec. 31/2008
As far as penny mining stocks go, 2008 was not a nice year. Actually 2008 was not a nice year to any stocks of almost any kind. Gold did close up on the year which is most likely the only thing that did go up year over year. Up 5.5% on the year. Better than a GIC.
Looking back at this time last year we were watching two coal stocks, Western Coal WTN-T and Grand Cache GCE-T. About April of 2008 everyone seemed to be banging drums about coal so we here felt that the end was near for coal and closed out positions. Coal did still perform well after that but most gains were seen from late 2007 till about April/ May of 08.
We also watched helplessly as Breakwater BWR-T fell from over $3.00 to about 5-6 cents. Likewise for Adanac Moly AUA-T and their Ruby Creek Project.
Tahera Diamonds TAH-T was posted on our gamblers list over at Juniorminers.com. It along with a few others proved out to be a shorters best friend and a gamble indeed.
Looking ahead into 2009 we are still watching Redcorp RDV-T even though they have put their Tulsequah Chief mine on hold. Our silver plays Golden Goliath GNG along with Oro Silver OSR, Great Panther Resources GPR-T and Silver Eagle SEG-T and Oroco Resource Corp. OCO are still on watch as we feel silver will make a good turn around this year. Silver Eagle SEG-T is short on money and looking for a buyout but even with that we feel it warrants a watchful eye.
Of course we are bullish on both silver and gold even more so now with the way the economy is going and the credit issues continue. Our predictions for gold are $1500.00 US an oz. and $25.00 US an oz. for silver. Base metals we feel will remain flat with maybe a modest up swing.
Stocks to watch in the New Year for us will be a few large players. Tanzanian Royalty TNX-T, Silver Wheaton SLW-T and Silver Corp. Metals SVM-T. Keep an eye open to Nova Gold NG-T also. Even though they are short of money they do have excellent properties. Much the same as Redcorp RDV-T who may be short of funds, they to have gold in the ground and with stocks prices for pennies on the dollar, those with money will be out shopping.
We wish everyone who reads Penny Mining Stocks a Prosperous and Happy New Year in 2009.
